Marcus Warner
​Marcus Warner is a dedicated community leader and passionate advocate for local business and regional growth. As President of the Bright and District Chamber of Commerce, Marcus works tirelessly to promote collaboration, innovation, and sustainable development across the Alpine Shire.
With a background in business leadership and a strong connection to the Bright community, Marcus has a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities faced by local businesses. Under his leadership, the Chamber has championed initiatives to support tourism, enhance local infrastructure, and strengthen ties between businesses, residents, and local government.
Marcus is particularly proud of fostering community events that celebrate the region’s vibrant culture and natural beauty, including spearheading forums and town halls that give a voice to local concerns and visions for the future.
When he’s not working to build a brighter future for Bright, Marcus enjoys cycling, volunteering for the Victoria State Emergency Service and enjoying running and riding through the picturesque landscapes of the Alpine region. His dedication to the community and forward-thinking approach make him a driving force in shaping a thriving local economy.

Rupert Shaw
I am currently the GM of TAFCO Rural Supplies. I became interested in Agriculture after buying a small hobby farm on the outskirts of Bright.
Previously I led the team at Bright Brewery for 5 and half years. While there the team won a gold medal at the Victorian Tourism award on three successive years. The Brewery is now a Hall of Fame member.
I have been an Executive at two of Australia’s fastest growing online businesses, realestate.com.au and sportsbet.com.au. I have been accountable for managing relationships with subsidiaries, suppliers, key customers, regulators and other official bodies. I have substantial experience in managing complex and fast-moving change and technology projects across, telecoms and online service operations.
Previously I worked as a Managment Consultant at A.T. Kearney in London and a Marketing Executive. I have a wife as defined by the ATO and two dogs.
David Chitty
David is a retired Infantry and SAS officer having served 21 years in the Australian Defence Force, including combat service during the Vietnam war, retiring with the rank of Major.
Since 1985 David has been the owner and Chief Instructor of local adventure business Adventure Guides Australia and from 2017 the Mount Buffalo Ski School. David also consults on risk management and outdoor safety and environmental issues. Davids passions are Caving, Abseiling. Telemark Skiing and White Water Packrafting.
David has worked with state and national outdoor peak bodies over the years to develop outdoor industry risk management standards and documents such as the Australian Adventure Activity Standard and its Activity Good Practice guides, the national Severe Weather and Fire Guidance Note for outdoor activity providers and the recently developed Discussion paper for Snow and Back Country Ski Activities. He also consults to agencies such as Affinity Risk managers / Insurance brokers regarding PLI and other support for the Outdoor Industry.
David is a foundation member of the Mount Buffalo Friends Group and is passionate about Mount Buffalo and its amazing adventures, landscape and opportunities for tourism. He works closely with Parks Victoria and other land mangers in the region to ensure that visitors and locals traveling into our national parks and state forests can provide.
Trina Friend
I moved to Bright in 2004 to raise a young family away from the bustle of Sydney. During my time here I have worked with many local businesses in administration while studying to become a registered BAS agent.
I was a cub leader for a while, which has led into work as an Adventure Guide at Mount Buffalo.
I'm proud to be an active member of the great team at Bright. I love learning new things and helping when and where I can.
Monique Hoedemaker
With over four decades of mastery across hospitality, tourism and real estate, Monique is a High Country icon. Her career is a tapestry of successes in hotels, restaurants and holiday accommodation, making her name synonymous with quality and experience in the region. Known for her deep-rooted connections throughout Dinner Plain, Mount Hotham and the Ovens Valley, Monique offers a rare combination of insider knowledge and personal touch.
A keen social golfer in her free time; she enjoys the outstanding selection of local food and beverage offerings and a casual ski on those blue-sky days.
A director on the Bendigo Community Bank Board and committee member at the Bright Community Golf Club.
